React Engineer

What You’ll Do - Function

  • Your work, on the Bluescape Portal, will involve a complete rewrite of an existing, legacy Ruby-on-Rails application to a React Application consuming REST API.

What You Bring - Experience

  • Proficiency in HTML5/CSS3, including cross browser compatibility
  • Experience converting wireframes or PSD designs to HTML/CSS
  • Solid understanding of MVC architecture and separation of concerns
  • Working knowledge of Ruby on Rails
  • Solid OOP fundamentals and the ability to write good code quickly
  • Development experience on an application currently in production
  • Experience consuming RESTful web services

What You Have - Skill

  • 2 - 3 years experience with web front-end technologies
  • B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent experience demonstrated 1 year of experience or equivalent passion and your portfolio of work
  • Solid understanding of JavaScript, HTML and CSS and architecture of single page web applications
  • Proficiency in React
  • You work smartly, you’re highly productive, and able to take ownership of a significant portion of a production application

Bonus

  • Client-side JavaScript framework knowledge, such as Backbone, Ember, or Angular
  • Client-side JavaScript experience and at least one server-side framework such as Rails, Django, or Node.js
  • Comfort with a CSS preprocessor such as Less or Sass
  • Experience building RESTful API with Node.js
  • Knowledge of relational database design and writing performant SQL queries
